NICHOLAS KOSCIK

Nicholas Koscik is an award-winning filmmaker and production sound mixer based in Toronto, originally from the small town of Englehart, Ontario. As the Founder and Creative Director of Lone Pine Media, he has built a reputation for high-concept narrative fiction and visually striking commercial work, defined by a meticulous "every frame a painting" aesthetic.

His work has garnered significant international acclaim, most notably with the short documentary Dear Friend, Where Have You Gone?, which was named Best Documentary Short at Toronto Film Week and earned an Award of Excellence at the Canada Shorts Film Festival. Nicholas first broke onto the scene with Nature Boy, which swept the Toronto Smartphone Film Festival with wins for Best Picture and Best Sound, while also being awarded the Grand Jury Prize at the African Smartphone International Film Festival.

With over a decade of experience as a successful freelance sound mixer for film and television, Nicholas brings a technical mastery to the director's chair that informs his immersive, sensory-driven approach to storytelling. This ears-first philosophy results in atmospheric, visceral films, like his latest psychological thriller, Acrylic & Bile, which challenge audiences both visually and sonically.
